The International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology (ICCSP)

Founded by Peter Breggin, M.D. in 1971, ICCSP is a non-profit network of individuals concerned about the impact of mental health practices on individual well-being, human values, and community. Spearheading reform in psychiatry, it has been called "the conscience of American psychiatry.

National Empowerment Center (NEC)

NEC is funded by a grant from The Center for Mental Health Services, foundations and donations. NEC is a technical assistance center, providing information and education to consumer/survivor/ex-patients and professionals.

Re-evaluation Counseling (RC)

A wealth of literature is available, as is a listing of leaders and teachers throughout the world. Their main journal, 'Present Time', is highly recommended for a $14 yearly subscription. Their journal on Mental Health Liberation is called 'Recovery and Reemergence' -- Nos. 4 and 5 are terrific, and only $3 each. "What's Wrong With the 'Mental Health' System And What Can Be Done About It," a booklet for which Janet Foner is mostly responsible, is another excellent resource, also available for $3.

Mind Freedom International

MFI is a totally independent nonprofit coalition on mental health advocacy for human rights and alternative mental health. Founded and lead by David Oaks, Mind Freedom is a federation of individual members and grassroots groups in countries around the world..
